Need campspots. Red mtn pass/Blue mesa res.

Post by KevinK »

Hi yall. Havent posted here in forever but need some campspot advice for an upcoming trip. Need a spot near Blue mesa res and another near Red mtn pass. Will probably be in a subaru so no extremely gnarly roads and I much prefer free campspots with great views.

South Mineral has a lot of easily accessible, free, nice spots on RMP. They are on the Silverton side.

Thanks Wheeler. Think were settling on Sultan/Grand Turk for the next day so that area should work great.

Id still love to find a suggestion for the blue mesa area. Closer to monarch or gunnison would work too...

If you're doing Grand Turk and Molas, then I'd highly recommend little molas lake (not to be confused with big molas lake). Also free, and maybe a 3 minute drive the next day.
