Matterhorn Creek in a Honda Civic

Post by BenThom11 »

Hey everyone. I drive a stock Honda Civic and was looking for some tips on the Matterhorn Creek TH. Any thoughts on how far I could make it? Are there other turnoffs before the 10,300 one?

I recently made it to the landslide area on Lindsey, but that is about as far as I would want to push my car.

Having just done this yesterday in a Grand Cherokee, I would think a Civic would have a pretty hard time starting at the Mile 9 turnoff to Henson Road. There are some fairly tall rocks, some of which can be avoided, but I'm not sure you'd be driving any faster than just walking in a Civic. Others may have a different perspective, but I don't think I saw anything less than vehicles with 8 inches of clearance and more on the last 2 mile stretch to the 2WD TH.

I 2nd Merrion13's response but would like to add that there is a good size parking area at the bottom of the road, a small pulloff just a couple hundred feet up the road on the left, and another one maybe a tenth of a mile on the right.
