Hi there,
I am in search of easily accessible car camping spots outside of Ouray, Mesa Verde, Durango, and Pagosa Springs. I am not too familiar with these places and will only have a Chevy Cobalt so it must be something easily accessible. Looking at Googlemaps from the comfort of my home is not too helpful. Thanks for your suggestions! Andy maybe perhaps some ideas where to go and what to do with two older dogs and a lazy husband who loves breweries more than the outdoors. Any suggestions?
Thank you knowledgeable people!

Re: car camping spots Ouray, Mesa Verde, Durango, Pagosa Springs
Thistledown CG south of Ouray (on CR 361) has 9 campsites strung out along the road; no problem for a Cobalt. I stayed there a couple of weeks ago; no water, vault toilets, nice tent pads but just a basic forest service CG. United Campground of Durango is an RV park on the north side of town, on a side road just off highway 550, that has a few tent "sites", i. e. a stretch of grass and picnic tables. You do have access to the showers, toilets, etc. The train, when it's running, goes right through the facility. Much beer available in both towns. Don't know about Mesa Verde or Pagosa Springs.
