When you get a historically dry winter you end up with leaves changing in August. This is the side of Tenderfoot Mountain in Dillon, and we got more precip than most.

I didn't get any photos but I've been up Kenosha Pass a few times this week and it's starting to change there too!

Been playing in the Southern Sawatch all weekend and the aspens are definitely starting to change. Probably peak in two weeks, though its been cold out here (snow atop Harvard), which might accelerate the change. Things in general seem a few weeks early due to our dry summer.

Also the tundra seems to be turning brown early. This looks like mid-September tundra, still in August.

Great shots Matt. Lower photo: peak on left is Wildhorse Peak in the San Juans off Engineer Pass road. Must have been a dry summer up there.

Update from the road:
Summit County seems to be quite far along, prob peaking this week.
Fremont Pass, Leadville and Twin Lakes are turning quickly, maybe peak in 7-10days?
Aspen and Indy Pass West are still mostly green and look to be on a more normal schedule.
