Hi all. Looking at what I believe to be 2016-ish Scarpa Maestrale alpine touring ski boots. Trying to determine the size. Supposed to use mondo sizing so was expecting to see a singular size number like 29 or 29.5. However, looking at two places on the shell's cuff I am seeing 29.0/30.0. You can see that in these two images:
Is that normal to have a "range" so split the difference and get approx 29.5? FYI that the number on the Intuition liner tongue starts with 295 so don't know if that is further pointing to a mondo size of 29.5.
Thanks!

Re: Scarpa Maestrale sizing question
It's unusual for ski boot mfgs to make half size shells. The liner usually doesn't have a half size either. The additional volume in a10 vs 10.5 (mondo 28 vs 28.5) is basically due to just the thickness of the insole.
You should do a little research into shell fit to try to get a base line for helping you to find a boot that'll get you into the manageable range of fit. Then find a boot fitter and you guys can work on dialing it in so that you can skin and/or ski confidently.

Re: Scarpa Maestrale sizing question
Most ski boot manufacturers break on the whole size, which means that a size 29 and 29.5 share the same shell, but different liners/footbeds, but Scarpas break on the half size. Per Scarpa this "means that a half size shares the same shell length as the whole size above it but the liners are lasted for each 1/2 size. For example, a 25.5 and 26.0 are the same shell size but the respective liners come pre-molded to the half size."
Best to try on and see how it works for your foot.
