RMNP Time Access Permits

Post by LowLandRunner »

Does anyone know how quickly the time access permits for RMNP sell out?

We're planning a family vacation to Estes Park this summer and were wondering if it is safe to book a vacation rental before entry permits go on sale.

Thanks.

Just drive through at 8 AM or even earlier. Permits are for 9-2. You'll want to nab a parking spot and be there when it's less busy.

Do note bear lake corridor ("best part") is 5-3 ish, but I believe you can take public transportation in

My family has pretty easily gotten passes when they release the "last minute" batch 3 days in advance the last couple years. Do check that it is still 3 days when the 2025 info comes out. But ya worst case you could be in early or take the "Hiker Shuttle" from Estes. That still requires a reservation, so you are flipping one reservation (timed entry) for another (hiker shuttle) so that may actually be harder to get, not sure.

Note that the Bear Lake shuttle you still need a timed entry res for Bear Lake as that PnR is beyond the permit guard shack on Bear Lake Rd.
