Huge congrats are in order to John and Renata Collard who successfully completed the Colorado ranked 13er list including new LiDAR summits on July 11! They completed the project on one of the harder and remote ones, mighty Peak 9. John’s first CO 13er was Pettingell In Oct 1992 and Renata’s first was Red Peak in the Gores in October 2003. I did #2 for Renata with them that year and #581 this year!
I have many fond memories with them over the years of various woodshed beatdowns up mountains. The highlight was a successful ascent of elusive Peak 15 on my 3rd try after a hail storm the previous day. John and Renata have contributed to the CO hiking community a lot over the years leading CMC trips and organizing the Lists of John annual gathering. Welcome to the small list of 13er finishers, John and Renata. That’s a lot of choss surfing!
Congrats to John and Renata Collard-CO Ranked 13er Finishers!
