Looking to hike Handies Peak (Sept 25) – First 14er, open to joining others

Hi all,

My hiking partner and I are planning to summit **Handies Peak via American Basin** on **Wednesday, September 25th**. We’re flying in from New Jersey and this will be our **first 14er**. We’re both fit and well-prepared with acclimatization plans and a detailed route itinerary.

We’ll likely arrive at the **American Basin trailhead the night before and camp nearby**, planning for an early AM start (between 4:30–6:00 AM, possibly sunrise hike). We'd love to **connect with others who plan to hike that day** — either to join up at the trailhead or hike alongside for safety and company.

We’ll be hiking at a moderate pace, aiming for a fun and safe summit day. If you’ll be in the area and are open to linking up (even briefly), please comment or message me here!
