Rock of Ages TH updates???

Post by seannunn »

If anyone has an update on the status of the Rock of Ages TH please post.
Last update was 6/23/25, and contained something about trees blocking the road to the trailhead, although I believe it says they cleared them.
I am planning to go there in 2 weeks, so any info is greatly appreciated.

That was cleared a while back. I drove there last week. Trees not an issue. Creek crossing pretty mellow.

I dunno man, you shouldn't give Sean false hope like that. It's not like anybody in Colorado owns a chainsaw or even a handsaw. In fact saws of all types are illegal in our great state. No trees have ever been cut here. And this trailhead is completely unknown, never has visitors, has nothing of value anyone would want to do nearby, and isn't close to one of the most outdoorsy communities probably in the entire world. Nobody's been to the trailhead, certainly not the five people who have posted Wilson Peak conditions reports in the 23 days since the trailhead report was posted, and nobody's going there in the next two weeks either. And it definitely didn't say whether the trees were cleared in that report from the 23rd, nosiree, definitely did not. If only they'd pulled the trees out of the way with a truck or something. I'm sorry to say, Sean, that those trees are still there and will be there forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever. :(

Drove a corolla to 300ft before the stream crossing. Mud and and deep ruts stopped me from going further. No trees up to that point.

Thank you. I have a stock Ford Explorer so hopefully I can give it a go. Appreciate the earnest response.
