The Conservation Fund, with the help and financial support of CFI, the Colorado Mountain Club Foundation and other partners, has resulted in the acquisition of 480 acres of land on Mount Bross.
The good news: One of the parcels (old patented mining claims) obtained is on the Decalibron Loop trail. This ads another link in the chain that, we hope, eventually will see the entire route protected. The other lands secured protect alpine tundra ecosystems found on the southern flanks of Bross.
The bad news: None of the claims purchased affect in any way access to the summit of Mount Bross, which remain off limits to climbers.

Looks like (maybe?) it secured a portion of the top of dolly varden gully.

Great news!
Appreciate the solid efforts of all the parties involved to make this purchase happen.
My wife and I took the loop earlier this month, and from the trail descending Bross, we admired all the trail work done from Kite Lake TH to the saddle between Demo and Cam. One can see where the trail work will preserve (and hopefully augment) a precious swath of alpine tundra. Excellent!

Was on Decalibron a couple weeks ago and absolutely love the newer trail strengthening evident on the Democrat approach. I think it blends nicely with the mountain, so hats off and much gratitude! Fantastic news all around, will continue to support CFI.

They (conservation fund) also picked up land on Loveland Mountain as well:
