On July 8th, 2026 MSchmalz climbed Peak Ten, finishing the LIDAR 13K+ Colorado Peaks. Many years ago, he completed the "original" list.

Oops, just to clarify: he didn't climb all the 13K+ Colo peaks a second time. Just the ones that had been "promoted" by the new Lidar survey.

Congratulations Mark!!! They keep moving the goalpost.
I joined you for 1 - 13er back in 2011? Mascot Peak. Steve Gladbach was going to meet us in Buena Vista and did not show up. He had a late after school
activity and was going to drive up in the morning from Pueblo. He got tired on the drive pulled over to close his eyes for 10 minutes and woke up two hours later. I thought it was getting late and was thinking of heading home. Steve got cell service and told me to go pick you up at the park where your wife and friend were running a 50 mile marathon. You and I headed for Yale and summited the exact same time as Steve did. Blew my mind. I think he bushwhacked straight up from the road. He must have done 4,000 vert in a hour. We got Mascot glissaded to steves car, then headed to town to meet the girls for one of Steve's favorite Mexican meals.

Nice! And in a few months - or however long it takes for the next round of surveys - you'll be able to post that you've finished them again and again!

Thanks for posting, Kent. The "second" time around was a tad different. I had climbed several of the "new" peaks years ago. Ten was the challenging one for sure. John, I do remember climbing with you. And yes, I remember Steve Gladbach racing to join us after doing about 4000 vertical in one hour. Crazy days!
