On South River Peak!
Congrats to Garrett Mitchell for completing both the ranked and unranked 13ers on the 14ers.com list! I’ve always been impressed that he’s had the foresight to go for this whole list from the onset (plus his own individual peak goals that he is tracking to) and for his general love and appreciation for mountains. He just looks at a map and goes, and when he sees something cool, he goes and climbs that sh*t too.
Garrett has quietly tackled this effort with skill, humility, independence, creativity, SPEED (he walks real frikkin’ fast) and with a sincere appreciation for the outdoors and the wild. I've had the pleasure of hiking with Garrett on some pretty amazing peaks over the last 4 years, and I’m always blown away by how effortlessly he navigates and moves through both technical and non-technical terrain. His partnership has been vital for many safe, smooth summits of challenging peaks, and for that I will always be deeply grateful. He’s truly one of the best in the game!
Please join me in congratulating this peakbagging, mountain biking, former competitive snowboarding, elk hunting, mountain skiing, ice and rock climbing, geology geeking, father of two who has hit a very cool milestone! Congrats on a very thoughtfully executed accomplishment, Garrett! Wishing you many great adventures to come!
