I can get behind these. I even like oysters and caviar🤗 But I still like steaks more.
I, too, like steaks. But I think the socialism that enables us to eat cheap beef is unwarranted.
I can assure you that cows don't reproduce very well under advanced socialism. Witnessed it firsthand.

STRELNIKOV!!!
Well, this just shows your lack of understanding of the historical timeline. Collectivization happened well after the conclusion of the Russian Civil War. Instead of watching Dr Zhivago (movie) you may read Sholokhov's "Virgin Soil Upturned" for the literary description of the events. Probably easier just to stick with Wikipedia though.

Really? From the NBC article:
Just 40 percent of families can afford beef and nearly two-thirds of the population reported losing weight last year, by 11 kilos (24 lb) on average, according to a study by three universities.

Maybe I will, it is not impossible. I've read "Tikhiy Don" about 40 years ago and it was pretty painful, but not complete disaster. I would call it Type II fun.

Impressed! Tikhiy Don is a better read than Podnyataya Celina. We had to read all that stuff in high school. ](*,) I read Dr Zhivago much later since Pasternak wasn't allowed until after 1991.

I remember the vote on full strength beer in grocery stores, but maybe I was drunk when I voted for that one. So, I was really voting on full strength BEARS instead of beers. Well, that explains it then. Geesh. I need to switch to weed. This is getting out of control.

Sorry, cows. I messed up.

Agree. But you would be surprised how little people know about wolves. They are indeed killing machines. It's going to get real interesting when they get established here and you see some decent sized packs. Big wolf packs outside Yellowstone are pretty rare these days since in 85% of Wyoming you can shoot them on sight. A bigger pack is not going to last long in Wyoming. Compared to inside Yellowstone where are some packs that range from 15-20 for instance.

It is estimated the Upper Midwest has a population of 4200 wolves. Perhaps they are decimating the livestock population there and we're just not hearing about it?
