i'm seeing this new "mini" tag on some of my trip reports?

there's nothing mini about anything i ever did. each word is more important than the last in those reports!
Pretty much everything I've ever done turns into a mini epic, so don't know what category I'd put 'em in.
Sh!tposting on the dot com since 2007!

here's a question for the people

friday night in Dillon we saw this big swarm of people coming down near Breck area in parachutes - like 12 - 15 people?

but i have never in my life seen any one person doing that in summit county like that.

we didn't see a plane drop them - but people don't sky dive here - right?

But meaning they base jumped off quandary? I still don't get it.

folks seemed to be pros too - very calm night and some of them were up there hovering in the twilight for a really really long time. pretty cool!

People paraglide off of the Tenmile peaks very frequently. Once they're off the ground, flyers can get very far and stay airborne for quite a long time. Loveland pass is also a common launch area, and its not inconceivable that they would launch from Loveland and land down in Breck for an easy car shuttle
I thought, I taught, I wrought

Hey thanks! that was actually a little vexing. some were saying they jumped from a plane but we never saw one and that seems inadvisible in summit county?

i guess if these folks are doing it all the time - the reason i never seen before is that the other night was a team of like 10+ people - and they stood out in the twilight.

but even then - coming off loveland pass all the way to breck?? that's nuts.

no one's jumping on the geo-glyph huh?

its actually part of my super awesome expansive fiction project I've been cooking up for years. I probably shouldn't even reveal any of this.

But whatever - this is sort of a hint....

Guess that makes the grade for threads that did not survive. . .

like the future of the wolves.
It’s one thing to get your own thread locked so quickly. Quite another to rush over here and attempt to do the same to jib’s obvious masterpiece.

Hey so since it seems like my status here can bear no more suffering

that nevertheless frees me to be expressive and yes there is another rando Jibler youtube video - and this one does involve actual 14ers.

i guess just FYI.

but all a part of my soon to be released ficitonal mega-masterpiece so I guess hopefully there's that.

although note too title is geared more towards the phish scene. you should be thinking more about Axis Mundi, or a Hill of Uisneach type scenario if you will. Pretty sick stuff I do say.

but apropos of nothing i guess for the moment.

i guess this should go over in my 'new spots' thread - but didn't pan out just yet so i'm putting here.

the new spot bucket around denver pretty low

so i was checking out the area off chief hosa / genessee there that drops into clear creek. was also wondering how viable as I 70 quick dog walking spot for later too.

the main plan had been to bust up past the power lines - reach this ridge and follow road out to this one little point at the end of the ridge.

but i had all this personal drama blow up last week and i wasn't sharp. dropped down when i shoulda dropped up. you can see here - red route in - yellow actual route taken - purple the actual planned route

Image

it was actually funny on dumb level when i finally had to retreat on the yellow - for one thing i had reached this washed out old bridge structure in that gully. some weird old s**t was going on back there.

but it reminded me of the 'montana days' in 90s - of getting lost pre-google earth on the windy BLM forest service roads and not getting missions done. that used to happen up there frequently.

but is this a thing? i thought one map showed trails back there but not part of any offfical park?
