Congratulations to you both! I met John and Renata on a CMC hike of an obscure 11er in 2010. I am very grateful to have reconnected with them through LOJ and the gatherings the past few years.

Great work Collards!

We climbed Peak Eight on the afternoon of July 11th. I believe we crossed paths at a bit of a distance as you were descending from the Peak Eight/Nine saddle.

The journey is everything.

Thank you all for the outpouring of compliments and love to the mountains! We have read and re-read your comments, and they mean the world to us. I will try to respond to individual comments/questions as soon as I can. We are a bit old school, so I am not on top of everyone's handles, but I love the mix of people we definitely know, people we don't know, and people we may or may not know! Plus the mix of greenhorns (we all started there!) and experienced climbers, and in-state and out-of-state climbers. Renata is heading to Peru today for an archaeological expedition, so I was lucky to get her up our last three 13ers while the getting was good. She truly adds a fourth dimension to my life that sometimes acts like a house of cards, but our faith and perseverance have held it together for 22 years now.
