I camped at the townsite many years ago, but last year when I was up there the townsite was posted with No Trespassing signs.
I thought I had heard about that on the forum but we didn't see anything posted at the entrance over the weekend.
We didn't drive into the townsite on this trip, so maybe the signs are over there?
Last year it was right near the junction along the road and it appeared there had been a wire fence across the spur to the townsite that had been moved to the side.

Didn’t see any signage.

In fact, on my way back down from the peaks there were several Texas wheelchairs parked at the Carson Site as folks were touring the buildings.

Didn’t look like it to be an optimal place to car camp.
The old log cabin ruin site, before the Carson Site, was flat and ideal. Has a fire ring as well.
I should be on a mountain
