Smoke from wildfires
I was looking at maps and forecasts for smoke this weekend to see what areas are affected. Answer - all of them
. Looks like pretty much the entire state in listed as a smoke zone. Of course prevailing winds may alter this some here and there but it looks to be the worst smoke season in years.

Wasn’t the best in the sawatch, certainly cut down the views. Kinda of becoming normalized unfortunately

I was in the Sawatch Weds and it was horrible. Gave me a headache it was so bad.
The summit is a source of power. The long view gives one knowledge and time to prepare. The summit, by virtue of the dizzying exposure, leaves one vulnerable. A bit of confidence and a dash of humility is all we get for our work. Yet to share these moments with friends is to be human. C. Anker

Well that sucks. Was planning on K49 tomorrow. Wondering if we should head south to the SDC range or if it would even make a difference....

I live in Santa Fe and it lasted until past Alamosa. That said it wasn’t too bad Tuesday when I drove up. May the winds be forever in your favor.

Yeah, we were in the middle of the Collegiate Loop earlier this week and you could certainly see and smell the smoke.

We hiked in the West Elk Wilderness today and it was clear as could be.

It wasn't too bad in the LCW. Had to really watch the skies a little more to be sure I was seeing things right, but other than that, I had no issues. Ocassionally, I did smell the smoke.

Hiked around Cottonwood Pass in the Sawatch today. No smoke at all was noted. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Didn't really notice anything in the Crestone area over the weekend. Very distant views were a little hazy, near by was totally fine, and I never smelled smoke.

Re: Smoke from wildfires
My son who is a wildland firefighter had shown me the Watch Duty app. They're a non-profit, with a free version that I use which has near real-time alerts/notifications about wildfires and firefighting efforts, evacuation zones/orders. The map layer has satellite fire perimeters, fire history, prescribed burns, wind direction, air quality index, and live wildfire cameras. Tons of great info, I've been using it constantly this summer to track fires...
